Mohammed Atif is an economist with a strong background in infrastructure development, renewables economics and legal and regulatory frameworks. He has experience in economic and financial analysis, regulation and restructuring, and market design to encourage private sector participation.
Mohammed Atif currently leads DNV GL’s energy business in Middle East & Africa as the Area Manager with offices in the UAE, Egypt, Oman and South Africa. His global experience includes countries such as Angola, Denmark, Egypt, Ghana, the GCC, Lebanon, Southeast Europe, Mozambique, Namibia, Pakistan, Turkey, South Africa, Tanzania, UK, Ukraine, Vietnam and Yemen.
Mohammed Atif has been involved in high profile and state-of-the-art projects as a Project Director in numerous countries in the region. He led the economics assessment of both Masdar PV Plant and Sir Bani Yas Island Wind Power Plant and his MEA solar team is involved in around 1GW of capacity.
Mohammed Atif holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in energy economics and has recently completed the Global Leadership Program with INSEAD.
