Peri: Renewables Lead, MENA (Moderator)

“Perihan is leading the renewable energy business in wind, solar and storage for Middle East and North Africa for UL. She has over 10 years experience in various aspects of renewable energy including consulting, project development, business development and project execution. She has worked with several developers, lenders and multilateral institutions in a wide range of international markets .

Prior to joining UL, Perihan held various positions with several developers, including EDF Energy, where she developed over 3 GW of large-scale projects across Turkey. In 2016, she moved to the UAE as Key Account Manager for large and strategic clients. She has been involved in more than 2 GW of renewable energy projects across the Middle East, Africa and Europe both as a technical expert and project manager.

Perihan is a meteorological engineer with a master’s degree from the Istanbul Technical University.”


Daniel Barandalla: Solar Advisory Lead, EMENALA (Speaker)

Mr. Barandalla has over 15 years of experience in the solar photovoltaic industry as a renewable energies consultant and project manager. He currently serves as a Solar Advisory Lead for UL Renewables Advisory Team in EMEA and Latin America. He has relevant experience in lender’s (technical due diligence review and independent engineering services) and owner’s engineer tasks for solar PV projects developed worldwide. Daniel has been acting as Project Manager in key Merge and Acquisition (M&A) transactions for UL key Clients overseeing portfolios of operating and development Solar PV assets worldwide.

He has worked in solar PV projects in main active markets worldwide, including Europe, the United States, Latin America, South Africa, and Australia. Prior to joining UL Company, he focused on the development of DNV GL commercial activities in Latin America, and he has expertise with projects in Mexico, Chile, Brazil, and other areas in Central America. He has relevant experience in PV module audit inspections as well as provision of training solutions for different stakeholders in the solar industry. Mr. Barandalla holds an MSc in Renewable Energy, Electricity Generation from the Universidad Pública de Navarra, Spain and an MSc in Solar Energy Engineering from Högskolan Dalarna in Sweden. He is fluent in English and Spanish.


Scott Jezwinski – Business Development Manager, Renewable Energy, Solar, Global (speaker)

Scott is a Business Development Manager for Solar Photovoltaic Systems with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) located near Chicago, IL,USA. He been leading UL’s collaboration within the Solar Renewable Energy sector globally for 12 years including working with industry stakeholders such as developers and investors, government entities, industry associations, manufacturers and regulators. He is also involved in the development of standards, test methods and evaluation of photovoltaic products and systems. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin Madison in USA.
