Key Account Manager – Solar I&C

Job Description

  • Leading the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business for Multinational, French, and large local groups , including but not limited to marketing, business development, and sales.
  • Develop accurate segmentation and targeting of the market including identification of customer and market opportunities, establishing balance of long-term pipeline and short-term revenue.
  • Develop and implement an effective channel management plan to ensure Total Solar is being recommended and introduced to strategic opportunities.
  • Identify and target strategic clients and projects, establish long-term & trustful relationships with customers.
  • Guide and participate in project team to effectively implement the customer and project plans. Be flexible and proactive to deal with complex situations and achieve sales targets.
  • Acquiring a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements 
  • Expanding the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
  • Present solutions, overcome objections, and win new business
  • Responsible for the development and achievement of sales through the direct sales channel. 
  • Write business plans for all current and opportunity tender business
  • You will act as the key interface between the customer and all relevant divisions.

Candidate profile

A strong candidate will have experience:

  • Analyzing the market to identify potential key customers in line with Total’s ambition.
  • Identifying effective ways to connect directly with customers at the senior management (C-level).
  • Building long-term relationships and structuring pricing proposals.
  • Coordinating with technical teams internally and externally.
  • Negotiating high-value contracts to a close.

While it would be helpful for a candidate to have experience in Solar, we recognize that the solar rooftop market is nascent and therefore we are considering candidates with experience in adjacent sectors. It is important for candidates to have experience engaging with C-level and closing major contracts.

  • 5 years of sales experience positioning sophisticated solutions and cost-benefit analyses
  • 5 years of team management experience would be useful but not critical
  • Excellent communication skills and good technical knowledge, coupled with a dynamic approach to sales. Success-oriented.
  • English is the working language but knowledge of other languages could help.
  • Broad network across UAE
