On Schools Heating Program’s (King Abdullah II Initiative) That providing more than 100 public schools with more than 1.5 MW Pv Rooftop capacity in addition to HVAC , Solar thermal systems ,LED lighting units & Appropriate Energy Building Envelop enhancing actions
Mr. Rasmi Hamzeh JREEEF’s Executive Director stated that we are proud of implementing His Majesty initiative for heating the public schools of Jordan. At the same time, we are proud that our efforts are being appreciated by the international organizations, commissions and institutions.
This project one of JREEEF’s Schools Heating program activities (King Abdullah II Initiative), that JREEEF started to implement it earlier last year through selecting more than 100 schools which entered into implementation and accomplishment.
In partnership with all stakeholders JREEEF has developed the royal initiative to be program of the Fund’s programs to be implemented during the 5-7 years to come & cover the inclusion of 2600 School, was a vision of this program is the development of providing (Comfortable Environment) in classrooms to transform our schools.
He explained that the Fund has completed or contracted to start the implementation of a project to heat 138 schools in the various governorates of the Kingdom during the year 2017. The works include heating as well as cooling to make the electric load covered by the installation of renewable energy systems (PV) on the roofs of school buildings and work on rationalization Energy consumption from general maintenance of buildings and classrooms, changing windows, doors, solar heaters, lamps with energy-saving lamps, and general maintenance works for schools such as paint works to add a state of renovation to the state of the public building of the schools. With Conducts a comprehensive awareness campaign for students, teachers and the community on energy conservation and renewable energy applications.
It’s worth to mention that Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA) based in UAE, Dubai organizing this Award on annually, where competing projects are evaluated by a selection of renewable energy experts from global, regional and local institutions. It is worth mentioning that this is the second award received by the Fund in less than three months. The Fund has been awarded the Best Enterprise Award for Renewable Energy Projects and the Conservation of Talents for the Arab Region and North Africa by the American Energy Engineers Association (AEE) in Atlanta, The Fund was selected as the best government development fund for 2016 by the World Bank implementing supported projects
The Fund also works to implement programs to support the housing sector (solar water heater, photovoltaic cells, LIDS), government buildings, heating schools (the King’s initiative), the service sector, places of worship and the industrial sector through granting and subsidizing interest rates and bank guarantees, as well as comprehensive awareness programs and programs to support creativity and new inventions in the field of renewable energy applications.
The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund is the executive arm of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. It was established under Article 12 of the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Law No. (13) of 2012. The Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Fund Regulation No. (49) of 2015 is issued according to the same law Where work has since started.
