Steven is the director of the business development & marketing function in the MENA and India region at Sineng. Steven has 10 years experience in sales and marketing of inverters and modules in the international market. As one of the first pioneers for Sineng’s overseas business development team, he has brought Sineng as the top two inverter suppliers in the India market.
Please describe your role at Sineng and your expertise in the sector?
I’m leading the teams in the Middle East, India, and Africa region for the sales and marketing of Sineng PV inverters. I have been working in the solar industry for 10 years with PV modules and inverter companies. I’m proficient in finding the business opportunities and seeking new customers, promoting and selling the inverters through all possible channels. Results-oriented personality, attention to detail, and willingness to continually learn and improve are my main strengths.
How did your story in solar begin and in your opinion, how much has it changed since then, if at all?
I started my career at a PV module company 10 years ago and in 2017 I moved to Sineng Electric. I was one of the very first employees of Sineng’s international department and our first market was India. We focused on utility-scale projects and at that time, central inverter voltage was still 1000V in most cases with max rating only at 1MW and 1.25MW. To achieve lower LCOE, we have increased central inverter ratings to 2.5MW and 3.4 MW which are the most prevalent solution for utility-scale projects, and string inverter ratings at 275kw and 320kw.
Sineng offers a broad range of solutions and services.
Can you tell us about your most advanced sector (solution/ service) and what sets you apart from other competitors?
Sineng is a Global Leading PV Inverter Solutions Provider, with a full range of central and string inverter solutions which can cover various application scenarios. Central solution power ranges from 1MW to 6.8MW MV station, and string inverter solution power ranges from 8kw to 320kw. We cover Residential, C&I rooftop, and Utility applications. For a central solution, we were the first manufacturer who developed the outdoor central solution, and for a string solution, we are the first manufacturer who developed the string inverter compatible with 20A PV modules. Innovation has always been at the core of our approach.
What’s a recent milestone Sineng has achieved that you would like to share with us?
This month we completed the fifth anniversary of our operations in the Indian market and expanded the manufacturing capacity of our Indian factory to 10GW per annum. We recently crossed over 6 GW of inverter supply to the Indian market since our entry. This is a testament to the hard work of our employees and workers, and also to the trust and faith which our customers have placed in Sineng, which has enabled us to reach this milestone.
What are your expectations for the MENA region in terms of growth and new opportunities for Sineng?
The MENA region has always been at the forefront of mega-scale projects and ambitions and targets rarely seen elsewhere. After the difficult period of the last 2 years affecting practically every aspect of the solar PV industry, the MENA market in the coming years looks poised for exponential growth due to its location and policies/programs. It is with this intent that the Sineng MENA team shall continue to provide unparalleled support to our customers that we are renowned for in the other markets.
Based on your expertise, where do you see the future of the solar industry as a whole?
The solar industry definitely has a long-term prosperous future in MENA and other parts of the world as well. Solar power is one of the most effective ways to tackle Climate change and reach carbon neutrality. Solar power can address the need for power independence and get rid of fossil energy. Sineng will spare no efforts to contribute more to the solar industry with a vision of building greener earth.
