The solar market in Saudi Arabia is expected to develop significantly in the coming years. The country has set ambitious targets for renewable energy, and solar is expected to play a major role in achieving these targets.
The Saudi government has already taken several steps to promote the development of the solar market. In 2019, the government launched the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), which aims to install 58.7 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity by 2030. NES has been announced as one of the sponsors of the upcoming MESIA and Solarabic Solar trade mission. In this context, why do you think KSA is so important as a market and how do you see it evolve?
The Solar industry in KSA is about to go through a period of exponential growth, and if the industry is to achieve its goals there will need to be a big focus on localization, in addition to the support from regional and international companies. The trade mission is important since it will allow international players from the industry to explore opportunities and meet potential partners to help them develop their presence in the kingdom.
