PVH has launched at Intersolar the new generation of solar controllers that will make photovoltaic installations more efficient than ever.
Madrid, June 15th 2023. – PVH, a world leader in solar structures and trackers, has presented the DBOX5 at Intersolar, the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry. This new generation of solar controllers will make photovoltaic installations more efficient than ever. The DBOX5 comes as a revolution in the solar tracking system. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, a superior communication system and a cutting-edge design, the DBOX5 joins the functionalities of the latest generation of grid control units and new terrain-adaptive trackers to create a complete and absolutely renewed plant control system.
DBOX5 is designed to be more durable and resistant. With a new hardware and firmware design, the standby power consumption of the DBOX5 has been reduced by 75%, allowing it to increase autonomy. It also has an end-to-end cybersecurity system, providing maximum reliability in terms of endurance and security, and in-house manufacturing by PVH has allowed them to create a unique product while reducing its carbon footprint by 18%.
Built to last
The new generation of DBOX is designed to be more durable and rugged. LTO batteries are capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions, and coupled with an integral, rugged design make the DBOX5 the most durable controller PVH has ever designed. In addition, thanks to the new hardware and firmware design, the standby power consumption of the DBOX5 has been reduced by 75%, allowing for a significant increase of its autonomy. A robust controller, with long battery life made to withstand even the harshest conditions.
Better connected and with longer range
The DBOX5 features the latest generation of LoRa radio transceivers, which provide increased connectivity range in solar plants of any size. This long-distance wireless communications system is the best choice for resisting interference from solar plant materials and devices. With an end-to-end cybersecurity system, it provides maximum reliability, resilience and security.
The DBOX5 operates with a revamped and simplified interface with fewer connectors, as well as a quick, convenient and easy-to-install mounting system, which will save the user time and effort. The setup and installation process is performed by a simple and intuitive method through a new control App, available for both Android and iOS. This revamped interface meets NFC technology so that any user can exercise detailed local control and monitoring.
PVH has obtained certification according to the international cybersecurity standard IEC62443-4-1 which reinforces the development of secure products. DBOX5 is a unique, self-contained product with an innovative hardware-based security system that ensures that only authorized software can run. The device stores cryptographic keys in a tamper-proof section. This advanced cybersecurity system ensures that trackers are unstoppable.
The goal in creating the DBOX5 was, from the beginning, to improve its capabilities. But also to create a better product, not only for the end user, but also for the world. PVH manufactures and assembles the DBOX5 in-house, presenting a single product that leaves the factory ready to be shipped to the final destination. This process dramatically reduces the need for component transportation, packaging materials and assembly hours on the field. DBOX5 has reduced its carbon footprint by 18% compared to previous devices, achieving the goal of collaborating for a brighter future.
The DBOX5 redefines efficiency and challenges connectivity with superior wireless technology that is rugged, secure and sustainable.
