The hydrogen research project launched by Graded in Dubai in collaboration with the University of Sharjah enters the testing phase. The intervention, entitled “Green Hydrogen Storage combined with a bifacial PV system”, aims to develop a photovoltaic/hydrogen fuel cell micro-grid power system for energy-efficient buildings using integrated radiant ceiling cooling and cold roof technologies. The performance of different types of solar panels and individual components were tested (see first photo below). Now the University is proceeding with simulations, in order to optimize the performance of all elements.
The plant that the Neapolitan company of the energy sector led by Vito Grassi intends to develop in the Emirates aims to reduce consumption in buildings by about 40%. The goal is to use these pilot micro-cogeneration plants, study their environmental benefits and replicate the technology on a large scale, so that carbon neutrality targets can be achieved.4
