Dubai, UAE - December 9, 2023 - LONGi Solar proudly announces the successful participation of its President, James Jin, in a high-profile seminar organized by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), China Renewable Energy Industry Association (CREIA), and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll) during the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai.

 

The seminar, titled "Opportunities to Scale up Green Energy Transition: An Expert Dialogue with Industry Leaders," took place at the AIIB Pavilion. The event provided a crucial platform for international organizations, industry leaders, and stakeholders to address the urgent need for sustainable and climate-resilient energy systems.

 

Aligned with COP28's key themes and objectives, the seminar aimed to explore innovative financing mechanisms, policy frameworks, and best practices to accelerate the transition to clean and sustainable energy systems. The session featured speakers from AIIB, CREIA, SEforAll, and other industry specialists.

President James highlighted the LONGi Solar’s key contributions to Green Energy Transition as below:

 

Innovation in R&D: LONGi's significant investment in research and development, including the launch of Hi-MO 7, demonstrated a commitment to technological advancements and enhanced performance in challenging environments.

 

Technological Breakthroughs: LONGi Holds world efficiency records in solar cells, 26.81% for silicon solar cells and 33.9% for crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells. This means that with the advancement of technology, when using every 1 kilowatt hour electricity, people pay less and less. LONGi drove down the cost of electricity, making renewable energy more accessible and affordable, particularly in the MENA region.

 

Successful application on large scale solar project: Qatar 800MW PV project commissioned in 2022 supported by LONGi has provided green electricity for the 2022 World Cup, helping Qatar realize its dream of hosting a "zero carbon" World Cup.

Manufacturing process with low carbon emission: LONGi dedicated to sustainability, actively participating in corporate climate action.
